HIGH COURT SENTENCES “MINUTES” IN 2016 DRUG CASE

HGP Nightly News – Shemroy Robertson, known to law enforcement by the alias “Minutes,” has been sentenced to six years in prison and fined $1.734 million following his conviction for cocaine trafficking.

The ruling was handed down on Thursday by Justice Priscilla Chandra-Hanif at the High Court.

The case stems from a January 2016 incident in which Robertson was found in possession of just over one kilogram of cocaine.

According to the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU), he attempted to evade capture during a police pursuit, discarding a bag containing 139 cocaine pellets before being tracked down and arrested at a residence along Mandela Avenue.

At the time of this conviction, Robertson was already serving a two-year sentence for aiding the trafficking of cannabis. Authorities also noted that he had previously faced drug-related charges in 2017 alongside three other individuals, though those matters were later dismissed.
