The new school term has officially commenced, and Minister of Education Sonia Parag has issued words of encouragement to students in Grades Six and Eleven, reminding them that the coming term is critical as major national and regional examinations draw closer.

In a message to students, the minister emphasized the importance of focus and preparation for those taking the National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) and the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate examinations later this year. She noted that the academic demands of the term will be significant and encouraged students to give their best.

Addressing Grade Six students, Minister Parag reminded them that they will soon undertake their second mock examinations before advancing to the final NGSA. Similarly, Grade Eleven students were advised that they will be writing mock examinations in preparation for their final CSEC assessments, particularly in Mathematics and other core subjects.

The minister also used social media to reinforce her message, urging students to remain disciplined, committed, and confident as they approach key milestones in their academic journeys. She highlighted the importance of consistent study habits and urged parents and teachers to continue supporting students during this demanding period.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education announced that the January 2026 Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) examinations will be administered using a hybrid format. The approach is intended to provide greater flexibility while maintaining the integrity and standards of the examination process.

The Ministry says it remains committed to ensuring that students are adequately prepared and supported as they work toward academic success during the new school term.
