Ballistics Report Confirms AR Rifle Killed Rondel Clarke; Family Remains Skeptical

The Guyana Police Force has concluded that the fatal shot that killed 29-year-old Rondel Clarke was discharged from an AR rifle in the possession of a private security officer attached to Force Security Solutions. This finding comes after a comprehensive autopsy and ballistic analysis conducted by police forensic experts.
According to investigators, a metal fragment recovered from Clarke’s body matched the type of ammunition used in an AR rifle issued to the guard. The bullet reportedly had an exit wound, but a piece of metal remained lodged inside the body, which was submitted for lab analysis at the Criminal Investigations Department’s Crime Laboratory.
Police further reported that a 9mm spent shell casing found at the crime scene also matched a 9mm pistol in the possession of a second Force Security Solutions officer present during the incident.
Despite the official findings, Clarke’s grieving mother, Michelle Clarke, continues to express deep distrust over the entire process. She revealed that the family was not permitted to witness the autopsy, which has only increased their suspicions.
“No one witnessed the post-mortem today. No one. They said it’s just for the police,” Clarke said. “I still believe in my heart that it was the police who shot my son — not the security guard.”
Clarke was shot and killed on Sunday night at Second Street, Foulis, in what police initially claimed was an altercation involving a private security guard. However, the family has insisted from the outset that the police were actively involved and may be responsible for the fatal shooting.
The case took a turn after the family obtained video footage showing a police van pursuing Clarke on his motorcycle moments before his death — raising serious questions about law enforcement’s role in the incident.
The police have said a file is now being compiled and will be sent for legal advice. Meanwhile, public scrutiny intensifies, and the Clarke family continues to call for justice.
